Thanos Prunarus
Thanos Prunarus has been working as a bartender since 1999. In 2009 he opened his own bar called Baba Au Rum. An institute that changed the history of the Athenian and Greek bar scene but mostly changed the way that Athenians drink.
Baba Au Rum bar is now a leading rum and cocktail venue, awarded as one of the World’s 50 Best Bars currently ranked at #25 (2023)

Event Details
The second event of it’s kind in Malta, aimed at educating & entreating through the art of mixology
2nd November 2023
Guest’s Master Class – 6.30pm – Ticketed Entry
We shall be opening this event to all local mixology enthusiasts who would like to attend. Starting with a introduction and discussion of the history and philosophy of the craft, this will then lead the way to a live demonstration of crafting some of the world’s best cocktails that put Baba Au Rum on the 50 Best. A tasting will follow suit along with an interactive Q & A session.
Bar Takeover – 7.30pm – Free Public Entry
Thanos will take over AKI’s main bar and will have a special cocktail menu that can be enjoyed by AKI’s patrons dining in. An opportunity to mingle and interact with guests will follow.
3rd November 2023
Upper Bar Takeover – 7.30pm – Ticketed Event
There will be a 2nd bar take over by Thanos, aided by the AKI team. This time, the AKI Spritz Bar shall be hosting guests that would have purchased an exclusive ticket to taste 3 of Thanos’ exclusive cocktails.
AKI guests dining in on the evening can also enjoy these on an a la carte basis.
