AKI – JAPANESE CUISINE IN VALLETTA

AKI a new Japanese restaurant has just opened in Valletta right in the middle of Strait Street and it seems like it is going to be one of the hottest dinner destinations this 2020.

VIBE

The vibe is a mix of sophistication and fun night out vibe. It’s the type of place that’s perfect for organising a group night out with the intention of making it a long night of laughs, drinks and lots of different nibbles and sushi.

The menu has a variety of sushi available, I particularly enjoyed the Karikari Tuna and the Crazy Roll. There’s also a tempting Izakaya section, sidenote: in Japan means a type of small bar-style establishment in which you order different small plates of food, with items like lobster gyoza. soft shell crab bao buns and prawn tempura. The Robata (skewers) section is a treat for meat lovers with Wagyu Sirloin on the menu.

The Deserts

Japanese desserts are always 1. very sweet 2. somewhat crazy. This menu features star items like cotton candy chocolate mousse which is served with actual cotton candy, passion fruit creme brulee and matcha scrumptious creations
